Land Use Planning - Principles and Quantification

Dr. Emil Israel

The course focuses on knowing land uses and their data-biased planning (Based-Evidenced Planning). Such land use planning expresses policy in space (for example urban or regional). As such, the course teaches methodological-critical thinking about data and examines its significance for useful planning ground. Data-biased planning of land uses bridges between the planning being normative (based on values), and being a (quasi-)research discipline that deals with space and time. The study in the course is based on twocomponents. On the one hand, the program. This expresses a quantitative policy of planning (as well as values that were the basisits determination). The course will discuss the role of the program in the structure of the physical design, and learn to conduct an analysiscritical of its components. On the other hand, the course presents tools and methods used to assign and determine the location,The function and amount of land uses (with an emphasis on residential, industrial and commercial). The course combines theoretical material with empirical and hypothetical demonstrations.
