Current job and how your planning degree prepared you for it
I’m the Urban Planning Hub Director and a Lecturer at the Department of Urban Studies and Planning, UC San Diego. Studying about international planning initiatives, conducting comparative analyses, and engaging with senior scholars from Israel and abroad throughout my studies at Technion, I became equipped with skills and competencies that enabled me to quickly adapt to a new planning culture abroad.
Motivation for studying urban planning
Working in the field of sociology of space in my MA degree, I was looking for ways to expand on my theoretical and practical understandings and conceptualizations of space. Studying urban planning provided a new path to acquire knowledge and information about socio-spatial relations in diverse urban settings.
